GLOSS – Nonsuch Park 13th July 2025

By | Sunday, 13 July 2025

It was great to see such a good turnout at today’s GLOSS at Nonsuch. Many thanks to John Pickup for planning such well-received courses for the second year running, and to Philip Gristwood for providing expert guidance in his role as controller.

A couple of issues in the week before the event kept us on our toes – the heatwave and emergency repair works in the park. With temperatures set to rise to over 30 degrees there was a real chance we would have to consider cancelling. Thankfully although it was a hot day, especially for the late starters and helpers, we were able to go ahead and everyone handled the conditions well. We were also fortunate that repairs to a main path and driveway were completed in time relieving some of the demand for parking. We were impressed by how many of you arrived by bicycle and public transport.

Nonsuch Park is a beautiful park in which to hold an event and your comments reflected this. Those who already know the park well were surprised to find areas on their course that they hadn’t visited before.

A huge thanks to the team of MV volunteers who provided amazing support on the day, before and after the event. Thanks also to Epsom and Ewell Borough Council for permission to use the park.
