My thanks this week to Ben Seaston for his reports on SN’s Saturday event and TVOC’s Sunday event – not content with one report Ben has provided two!
I also attach a photo of Colin the Camel being paced around the London Marathon last Sunday by our very own Tim Scarbrough. Colin was crewed by Tom and Becky Raftery of HH (Becky is Sarah‘s sister) and they were going for the world record for the fastest pantomime animal whilst raising money for the Children with Cancer charity. They only went and beat it by three and a half minutes (and beat Tim by a short head into the bargain 😀). Massive CONGRATULATIONS to Tom and Becky and you can show your appreciation of this magnificent achievement by donating to their charity here (they’re only a few pounds shy of £10,000 now, so let’s help push them over the line).
Last big Championship for this month sees the keenies amongst us off once more to Northern climes (or should that be climbs!?) for the British Middle Distance Championships. Less on offer locally so a good opportunity to check out our permanent and/or virtual courses.
The ‘other’ big event coming up is MV’s Handicap Championship at Houghton on Sunday 12th May. Entry fees go up on Monday so you might like to make sure you’ve entered by Sunday evening 😉
Oh, and don’t forget to enter for the club training event on Saturday 4th May at Farley Heath – it’s free for members!
