Every month MV together with Guildford Orienteers puts on a training event. They are relaxed, friendly activities perfect for newcomers, including families and those looking to improve their orienteering skills. They are free to members of Mole Valley and Guildford orienteering clubs and £4 for non-members.
The latest was held on Sat 29th March on a Wotton Estate portion of White Downs (thank you for permission!) in the bright spring sunshine. We had two courses designed for newcomers, and provided volunteers to shadow youngsters if desired. There were also three improver courses: (1) on improving ‘control flow’ (following up on our IOF symbol learning from the last training by practicing reading control descriptions while moving), (2) ‘map memory’, and (3) ‘planning ahead’ courses.
