MV picnic event & AGM at Headley Heath

A closed event for Mole Valley members & guests only
Moley is looking forward to seeing you all for our AGM Event & Picnic
Venue: Headley Heath, Headley Common Road, Epsom KT18 6NN – What3Words: cubs.brings.baking
Meeting point is 100m west of the car park on the open grassed area.
Parking: Free parking for National trust members. There is a £4 charge for 2 hours for non-members, however the ticket machine has been out of operation for the past 6 months and currently remains so.
Map: 1:10,000 orienteering map updated by Mike Elliot in Jan 2019.
Course: A 60-minute score course, with 30 controls and one switch between odds and evens.
There will be a shorter 2km line course for younger members and less experienced orienteers
SI will be used to record progress rather than the Map Run app so please bring dibbers.
Briefing and start at 11:00: everyone sets off at (almost) the same time – don’t be late! Start and finish is on the grassed area 100m west of the car park.
Safety:
- Please provide Paul with your mobile phone number in case of missing runner
- Be tick aware – check for ticks after your run
- The area is busy with dog walkers, horse riders, families – slow down and give a wide berth.
- There are some tall ferns and long grass to traverse to reach a few controls, and you may encounter the odd bramble or nettle, so full leg cover is recommended.
Picnic: Bring your own food, drink and chair/rug.
AGM: Following the AGM, various awards will be presented including Moley presented to the winner of this picnic event.
Facilities: There are no toilets.

- If you intend to do the score course
- If you wish to do the 2km line course.
- If you will only attend the AGM & Picnic
- If you are unable to attend.
- If you need to borrow a dibber.
