Yet again, we set a new record for the number of attendees (67) and rather took over the pub!
Tim put on a great course and made full use of the map (included tilting the North lines), which lead to a challenging course. I especially like the placement of the controls in the boxes in the middle of the map that took a bit of thinking to maximise the points score.
Well done to Mark Bowden who won the event from Jonny Major and Alex Kendall. Mark’s route looked to be the perfect example of route choice. It was a great battle in the ladies category with Abi Frame narrowly beating Kate Horsman, and Siobhan in third, with all of them putting in excellent results.
Message from Tim “Thank you to the vast majority of runners who ensured they only crossed the 40mph road at the marked crossing points. Unfortunately we had to follow through with disqualifying 4 runners who crossed at other locations, as per our note in the safety briefing. You have been warned for next time!”
The final standings are attached and thank you to everyone who stayed on for the presentation.
Congratulations to James Fraser who has retained the overall trophy, finishing above Tim Scarbrough and Mark Bowden. The ladies category was a very close contest with Kate Horsman beating Abi Frame by only 3 points on the last event. Mo Fitzpatrick was 3rd.
We hope to start the Street O series up again in September, and as you know the series depends on us having 8 volunteers to host events. We have had a couple of volunteers come forward, so if you would like to help the club and host an event, please let me know. Full guidance and support is provided for first timers.
