MV evening street score at Tattenham Corner

This is the second event of a series of 8 winter evening Street Orienteering events MVOC are organising on a monthly basis from September to April. Each event will be a 1-hour or 40 minute score event and a league table will be compiled from the results of each event as they proceed. The best 5 results from the 8 events will determine the final league positions. There will be a trophy for the first male competitor and The Lois Exell trophy will be presented to the first female competitor at or soon after the final event. There are also series trophies for the first M/W55 +competitors.

Venue
Start, Finish and post-race food and refreshments will be at the Tattenham Corner pub,Tattenham Cres, Epsom KT18 5NY

The map will be 1:10,000 scale – created from OpenStreetMap

Timing
The event will be set up on MapRun (and MapRunG for some smartwatches).

If using MapRun, please ensure you are using the latest version of the app (MapRun7) and arrive on the night with the course pre-downloaded from the folder UK > Mole Valley > StreetO 26-27 Series.

If using MapRunG, you will not need the PIN.

Please note that unlike previous series, we are not offering an alternative to using MapRun.

Safety
U16s must be accompanied by an adult.
Competitors are asked to wear high visibility clothing, reflective strips and/or additional lighting devices and carry a whistle for attracting attention in case of an emergency.

Starts
6.30 – 7.30 pm. Courses close at 8.40 pm sharp.

Travel
Parking: Car Park onsite, but if full, there is plenty of on street parking around.

Public transport: Tattenham Corner (8 minute walk, 650m)

Results
Will be available on the MapRun app when all have finished and on the club website as soon as possible after this event.

Please make yourself aware of and follow the British Orienteering guide for participants.

You are responsible for your own safety and you take part in this event at your own risk.

A quick reminder for newcomers: If you’re not currently a member of British Orienteering, you won’t be covered by the organisation’s public liability insurance for this event. For example, if you were to accidentally injure a member of the public or damage property during the event, you would not be covered. You’re very welcome to take part, but please be aware that you do so at your own risk.
