SUMMARY:Epsom Street-O
DESCRIPTION:This is the first event of a series of 8 winter evening Street Orienteering events MVOC are organising on a monthly basis from September to April. Each event will be a 1-hour or 40 minute score event and a league table will be compiled from the results of each event as they proceed. Details of how to obtain a copy of the app and how it works can be found here \nDownload the course onto the app by clicking on ‘Select Event\, and following the menu path UK > Mole Valley > StreetO 25/26 Series. The course will not be visible on your phone until you receive the PIN number at Registration on the night. There are no written answers required with MapRun and your result will be automatically downloaded when you finish. The full procedure will be explained at Registration. You can also use a Garmin watch with the MapRunG app installed and the course loaded.  \nRegistration: The Barley Mow Pub\, 12 Pikes Hill\, Epsom KT17 4EA \nStart location: Close to the pub \nPublic transport: Epsom train station – 15 min walk. SUMMARY:MV/GO Training Event: The Nower\, Dorking
DESCRIPTION:This is one of our approximately monthly series of friendly\, informal training events aimed at newcomers and existing orienteers who wish to improve their skills. These sessions are run jointly by Mole-Valley and Guildford Orienteering Clubs and are free to members of these clubs. A £4 fee applies for non-members. \nWe will be providing 3 activities: \n\nTwo courses for newcomers to try orienteering and there will be volunteers to help learn how to use an orienteering map to navigate around a course.\nFor improvers\, the theme this time will be contours – what they will actually look like on the ground and how to use them to inform good route selection and keep track of where you are. There will hopefully be an opportunity to play with some playdough!!\nIn addition\, and for the first time\, we are offering a simple score course aimed at the more experienced and those who are looking to stretch their legs.\n\nPlease make sure that you come wearing shoes suitable for running off-road\, full leg cover (NOT SHORTS!) and a compass and ‘dibber’ if you have them – they will be available to borrow if required. \nBring your own lunch and plenty to drink. \nIf you would like to join us\, please sign up at-  https://racesignup.co.uk/go-mv-training-activity-september-2025 \nPlease feel free to contact us on  or training@guildfordorienteers.co.uk or youth@mvoc.org with any questions.
