It was good to see
so many people out on a Tuesday evening. Nonsuch is very pleasant this time of
year if you can stay out of the nettles hope you all enjoyed it. There were a
couple of small hitches Nesting Skylarks signs (and indeed nesting skylarks
hundreds of them) appeared 3 days before the event which required some rejigging,
and the 35 kites I thought Id taken along had turned into 28 by the time we put
them out, so controls 2 and 3 comprised Sainsburys bags for a while .
Control 12 was disturbed for a few minutes many thanks to the gentleman (I
think it was Chris Wroe) who took time out to replace it.
Ian Ds route was
29 30 2 3 1 12 10 11 22 9 8 27 26 13 14 15 23 24 25 16 17 18 28 19 20 4 21 5 6
7, which I think was better than the one I had in mind. For us mere mortals, I
reckon the best plan was to go for 26 27 15 23 24 25 and as many on the way
there and back as you had energy for.
Many thanks to
Mike for processing the map corrections and overprinting the courses; to Neil
for helping to put out the controls; and to Ian, Nigel and Mike for helping to
collect them in again.
