Planner's Comments

I wanted to give the shorter courses the opportunity to run in Buchan Country Park, particularly as there had been a lot of forestry work in Holmbush. To do this meant putting the start to the East of the car park, but this would mean having two finishes (one for the longer courses) or having the longer courses making an in/out trip through the pinch point generated by the out-of-bounds created by the Paintballing area.

The two finishes option won out, even though that did mean the Green course was, perhaps, a bit longer than it should have been.

Thanks go to Vince (Controller) for suggesting that the Brown course would be
better with the "butterfly" instead of my initial effort with its mish-mash of lines and circles obscuring all the map detail.

Thanks, also, to all the control putter-outers on Sunday and the collectors after the event.

Mike Elliot MV

Controller's Comments

With an experienced organiser and planner and great facilities at Holmbush Farm this was a tried and tested formula so no surprise that everything ran smothly.

The courses were of a high standard so it is disappointing to see only two Orange, two White and no Yellow course competitors! Perhaps the 1.2km walk to and from the start and finish and the cold weather put them off.
